Report - A.E.I Henley Cable Works (not the tunnels for a change), Northfleet, Nov 2016

Ok so A.E.I Henley Air Raid tunnels have been done many times here but I’ve not found anyone that has posted a report on the last building standing on the site (I’m sure it won’t be around for long as they have demolished everything else). I’m not 100% on the exact function of the building on this site but it appears to be a cross between a factory and an administration building. The ground floor is a large open space for manufacturing. As you head up the building you will find many offices, two large rooms for manufacturing and one very large floor for manufacturing. You will also find more toilets than any building I’ve been in. I’m guessing that the majority of the work force would have been female as the male/female toilets are outnumbered by a fair amount. As fate would have it, spoke to my dad yesterday that informed me that my grandmother worked in this factory but unfortunately she is no longer around to ask. Anyway, here’s what I found...

Looks a nice place to mooch around

Nice to see this hasn't been defaced, been to many factories where this has happened.
A couple of your shots have darker corners where your torch hasn't reached the corners. When shooting, try using a slightly long exposure and wave your torch around a bit, that'll solve it

Yeah there where a few of those around the building. That one was out of reach of vandals. As for the camera tips, much appreciated but your assuming i have a decent camera I do these things as more of an adventure junkie rather than a photographer. But if things keep going well i may invest in something better

No we didn't, but I have popped my head in once since I moved to Gravesend and didn't bother with any photos. The outside of it is nice thou, great art decco styling. I hope they keep this building with any future development, but it's not listed so I fear it will probably go the same way as the rest of the site.
