There's a large gated Housing community called The Royal Garden at the edge of zhangmutou town that's popular with Hong Kong people as retirement and holiday homes. This Clubhouse was for the entertainment of the residents within the estate and would have included a pool, coffee shop, Mah-jong rooms and space for large group events like weddings. This was planned as a replacement to the original Clubhouse at the centre of the housing area that is old and too small.
Construction was started early 2009 but by the end of the year the privately funded project ran out of money due to the global financial crisis resulting in the investors main manufacture business suffering lower export orders and so no money to complete this Clubhouse.
