Report - All Saints Ukranian Catholic Church - Bolton - April 2024

[MK83]

History - This grade 2 listed church was designed by architect George Edmund Street and built in 1869. It closed in 1966 and reopened as a Ukranian Catholic church in 1967. The church was forced to close in December 2021 due to subsidence and problems with the roof.

Explore - This place has been covered previously by @MotionlessMike and with it being just down the road from us we had to have a look. A lot of the bits of furniture, painted panels and other paraphernalia had been removed since the first report but the church was still in good condition. Access was a very tight squeeze but quite straightforward and the early morning lighting made the place quite photogenic.

Hopefully it's all been saved, I read somewhere that they moved the services to another church so maybe it's all gone there.

Thanks, the stained glass was great in this place, no vandalism at all when we visited so all intact.

Cheers, yeah the damp was starting to get in due to the structural problems. Would be interesting to see it now as these shots are from April.
