The history
This church was originally a large house, build in the mid 18th century, and substantially enlarged around 1940. It is not clear when the church closed but it seems to have been operational as recently as 2014 (the poster below mentions Sunday 23rd March which last happened in 2014), but sections of the house show decay that suggests that they have been out of use for a lot longer. It was grade 2 listed in 1985. Parts of the building seem to have been dedicated to providing a Sunday school service, and these were probably some of the most photogenic parts - turns out I might have a thing for discarded religious iconography!
The visit
Visited solo on a sunny Autumn morning. I had seen this building a few years ago, but didn't think it was worth the effort as it just looked like an empty old house. However, recent reports revealed that I had obviously been too quick to judge. Photos are mainly film (Lomography 800 / Fomapan 400) with a few phone pics for completeness.
