Auguste Viktoria Klinik was first opened in 1901 as tuberculosis hospital, after world war ll in the summer the Americans forced the hospital to take care of hundreds of Russian troops who had been captured in the war, 85 of the Russian troops died in the hospital due to illnesses and they still remain buried to this day in the cemetery next to the hospital.
The hospital closed it’s doors for the final time in 2013 due many other updated hospitals in the area. The building is now being stripped out and repaired as the building is under conservation.
