The Visit
Not seen a report of this online before, so hopefully provides something new. A solo visit; uneventful and nicely atmospheric in the morning sun. Entry was fairly conspicuous but also reasonably simple, and once inside I spent some time taking in the scenes on each of the four floors. The lowest level was very dark and empty, so these photos are from the three top levels. Very little remains inside the buildings, but the rooms themselves were interesting spaces to spend some time in and photograph. This place has been on my radar for a number of years. However, it has also had quite active security, with others who have tried access (until recently) met by a prompt security guard, alerted by the motion sensors inside. I'm guessing that this currently lack of security probably means that this place is soon to be flattened and replaced with student flats, like the rest of the buildings in this area (and, in fact, most of Sheffield).
