Like most drain explores this one would have been a hell of a lot easier in the dry summer months ! The culvert runs under a big old mill the water draining from the Butterly reservoir further upstream . Parking up on Fall lane i came in to the culvert upstream
start point then first pic inside
looking back to the start point
carrying on upstream there was a small open section
looks like an old bridge culverted inside love stuff like this
next bit was very rocky and very slippery even with a big pole it washed me down the water has polished the rocks smoothy
nightmare trying to get up this bit with the camera tripod like i said at the start its not one to do outside of summer
small side tunnel
daylight in this section
2 options here went left hand side first
end of passage was blocked so back down and upstream
tuff conditions !
looking back downstream i noticed an opening above the blocked culvert soi decided to have a nosy inside
these stairs were sealed over
through the door
back outside in to the main culvert
end in sight
outside in to the daylight
great culvert this although the conditions were tuff slipped down with the camera a couple of times still worth it with those rooms an extra bonus , exited here climbing out up the steep bank then walking through the old factory very nice looking at the old mill you can almost imagine it back in the day cheers for viewing π
