So this is my first report, please go easy I met up with Tom Sherman and Jo Black for this explore, I hadn't been to these culverts before but Tom thankfully shown us the way.
From the info I can find 'Barley Brook' was listed on maps running through Wigan back in 1908, running from near Spencer Road West, through Wigan and meeting the canal over Stadium Way, parts of this Brook were culverted in 1910. It differs in size as you walk through, ranging from around 3.5ft to arounf 6ft in height, with water going from a couple of inches depth to around 1ft.
