The post is situated within a compound on a small mound in a field, approximately 50 metres north of Leeds Road. The surface structures are in tact with some of the original green paint remaining. Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.
The hatch appears to be padlocked shut, however the hasps have been filed and the hatch itself is unlocked.
The monitoring room is in reasonable condition although some of the original equipment has been removed. Remaining items include chairs, cupboard, jerry cans, bunk beds, mattress, Dexion rack, battery switching box, BT Teletalk connections, spade, sweeping brush, dustpan, OS map, kettle and tea pot.
BT Teletalk line connections.
Ordnance Survey map.
Timed light switch.
WC room with chemical toilet removed.
Original gate to the compound, as seen from the footpath on Leeds Road.
