We don't just have abandoned buildings, we have abandoned people as well, they are often murdered. Here is a story of how we traced the story of one of the many thousands. A Doe is an American term for a deceased body for which there is no known identity. This Doe have been named Beth Doe....
Found Dec 20th 1976 dismembered in 3 suitcases that were thrown over this bridge, White Haven, Pennsylvania.
They missed the river so were quickly found by passers by. The victim was 9 month pregnant, and was strangled, shot (after death), had her nose, breasts and ears cut off.
She had previous dental work that is always a sign she lived a normal life previously. Isotope testing showed she was likely from Serbia and had lived in the USA for 5-10 years.
She is buried literally in the middle of nowhere, Laurytown Road Cemetery. Its actually surrounded by miles and miles of Christmas trees being grown for sale.
She had WSR 47 written on her hand. No one had ever been worked out what it means.
And here is the graveyard. The state buries the dead here who have no money or family. So really these are all abandoned people.
Most of the graves are unmarked.
We found another Doe grave. We have no idea who this was
And Beth Does grave. Its actually the most well looked after with its few flowers. Often Does are adopted by towns or the emergency services involved with the case.
After all the research we have done on this doe it really hits home how sad these things are when you stand at their graves. 43 years dead and its still unknown who she is, or who killed her. I hope this is solved...
