Big Butts runs under the area known as "the Butts" in Rochdale. its actually more interesting than it sounds as it is actually several bridges of varying age, that have been slowly joined together over the years to form 1 large culvert.
the large 3 arch stone bridge is possibly one of the most impressive things i have found underground to date. back in 2008 and mendo and I first visited i remember being slightly overawed at the stone structure that greeted me!!
anyhow, wind on 2 years and myself and thompski visited, as thompski fancied it before he goes home from uni. its still awesome and WELL worth the revisit TBH!!
