WARNING - THE RED DOOR IS ALARMED - WARNING
Sorry about the large writing, it may seem brash, but if you read any part of this report, that is the main part you should take away from it. To explain, on my third trip our group made it to the station, and walking up the red door, we noticed a pair of what we believed to be a pair of red reflectors. Apon getting within 7 or so meters of the door, a alarm sounded, we shat ourselves and legged it. The alarm shut off a few seconds later. We returned 5 minutes later, and have scrawled alarm on the walls and have put up the old wires from wall to wall as a warning. If you do want to get close then do not go closer that the black and yellow post on the ground, anywhere past that will set off the alarm. This was tactically placed, when we shat our selves and ran.
As a side note, although it has been said before, backdoor is shut, please don't use it and irritate the land owners as it will lead to the permanent shutting of the nearby entrance. Thank you!

Relax.. you're not the only one to have set off that alarm and you sure won't be the last. To date, no reports anywhere that anyone responds to the alarm.

Agreed, whilst the backdoor can be got to, best not too as it will only aggravate a very delicate situation.

I take it the red lights are infrared flood lamps then. And I would pay to see the footage from our paniced escape! Does anyone monitor the footage?

Latest news:

I now have from good authority (in other words me), that the alarm sounding will invoke a MOD police response and they will wait for you at both Jacks and Backdoor for you to appear. I hear that this has happened many times in the last week, and the MOD police are now getting a bit miffed - not at us explorers but at the amount of time they are wasting. In my case they waited 2 hours for me to appear and were about to send dogs underground (their words). They also told me that the people recorded at the weekend throwing stones at the camera are now subject to a criminal investigation.

@Soviet Womble You can send a letter to the MOD police and ask for the CCTV footage - you have the legal right to request it under the Data Protection Act. Doing exactly that myself!

You will need to state the time and date you were videoed, a description of yourself, and state your identity. It can take a long time but looking forward to my video (not that it will be very exciting)

Hi Womble, did you bump into anyone while you were in box? Also the information about the black and yellow post is incorrect. The alarm went off without us getting close to it. We also had police waiting for us when we left but nothing happened other than making me delete photos from my camera

Totally pointless if you ask me,no one is ever really going to attempt to break the red door down, if you've ever seen the back of it and the huge bolt that closes it you wouldn't bother
Also gas axing which would be the only way would surely be the easiest way of getting shot!
I will continue to head for the door sirens or not on the hope that one day it may be open!
Or perhaps I could entice them out to escort me out whilst a few others wait in the dark to quickly run behind the door and let me in later!!

Yes, we ran in to 2 groups, one just entering and a large pack of wild stoners. and sorry about the info on the stripped post, it must have been moved! I have planned a mantinace run for Sunday to put up a proper sign warning about the alarm and the police presence and to have a crack at some of the barbed wire as some of it need opening up a bit!

The barbed wire isn't usually an issue... has it been pulled out a bit?

That would be stupid thing to do as it is only going to piss the MOD off and ruin the whole thing for us all plus do you think you'll get anywhere. They have dogs and carry guns and with the threats would quite possibly use them!

I'm pretty sure it's been ruined way before my little comment, have you even made it to the red door?
I didn't know they had dogs, I'm a bit scared now
I don't think I'll ever go to box again
