Built around 1856 these stables are impressive, to say the least total cost around 30 thousand pounds imagine the cost now.
feel free to give constructive feedback i may take it on board and then again may not, the first image is of the hitch to tie the horses too for grooming etc there was one of these in each of the stabels. there was some pillars at one end of the building which looked like the remains of a beam on top of it ime assuming it was where the carriages would have been stored no pics, unfortunately,
on this image there was a masons mark roman neumeral IV they allways is on more intricate sandstone decorative features

The coat of arms is impressive and its on stabels WTF the gentry have more money than sence
these are actually big pieces of slate cemented /lime mortared to the wall each of these has a cut out of something that looks like a musical note about halfway down. i am under the impression that these lets call them key holes was there to key the slate
onto the wall. The unfortunate thing about this explore was one of these slates had been ripped off the wall and someone had used it for the base of a fire pit with some of the old bricks used to surround the pit as a wind guard (irresponsible twats!!!)
