A local one for me, just a couple of kms from my place of work. It has been sealed for yonks, since the 1990s, but I noticed at the weekend that the huge concrete tank-trap pillar had been pushed off the hatch and a sledgehammer used to to break the concrete seal. It wasn't me by the way and was probably done months ago.
It appears as sealed on the Subrit website report dated 1999 and so these are probably the first online pics of what is inside.
Opened 1961, closed 1991
Lies just inside the Imber ranges, part of the Salisbury Plain Military Training Area and a short walk from the Bratton white horse and iron age hillfort.
A photo taken by myself in 2017 showing how the post used to be sealed
And today, as I said just inside the firing range
One tank-trap pushed off and a hole made
Went in expecting this to be good as it had been sealed so long, but no it was like any other
Thanks for reading
