Visited with DSV8 and two other mates earlier in the year but have only just got round to posting a report.
Originaly built to protect the workers of the Vickers-Armstrong aircraft factory during the second world war it is now a damn good place for light painting!
It consists of 17 parallel tunnels burrowed into the hillside. Each tunnel has its own entrance in the quarry face with a 50 foot doglegged access tunnel incorporating an airlock leading to the 180 foot long shelter tunnels. Further shelter space was provided with three cross tunnels linking the main 17 shelter tunnels. Tunnels 1 and 17 have large ventilation/filtration plants with ducting running back across the interlinking tunnel. 16 of the tunnel entrances are now bricked up and the 17th is now securely padlocked
Anyway enough rambling, on with the pictures....
