Situated on an overgrown bank of the River Irwell in Bury is the concrete outfall of this CSO.
About 10 metres in is a small inspection chamber containing a fair amount of calcium deposits caused by dripping water.
About 4 metres further through the RCP is the overflow chamber.
The outfall section of the overflow chamber is separated from a stilling pond by a heavily clogged-up grille.
A gap in the grille gives view to a penstock below, and possible access to the other side with the help of another person as the drop is deep.
