Part 2 of my Leicester reports:
I was up in Leicestershire for some ‘elf and safety training for work – so decided to put some of my training into practice with a bit of urbex.
Explored with Pom, JuJu (cheers for organising), urbex_1988 (cheers for the wellies!), CatVstyle and the rest of the Leicester crew – a grand 9 of us in total!
History stolen from Pom:
Buttonhole is a storm overflow system from a brook on the outskirts of Leicester which eventually heads into the river soar. Built at some point in the late 50s/early 60s based upon some of the tags that are down there. It is mostly around 2.2M diameter RCP and runs for around a mile.
This was my first ever drain and definitely got a thirst for them now!
We were stalked by some horses on our way in – I think they wanted to come in with us. And the safari continued inside where we spotted a leech and a frog.
Really is the perfect location for a rave!
