Carillion Crane, Birmingham, Feb 2010 Height 72m 236FT
myself, MrAltitude & jonny concrete decided for a return visit to this crane with camera's. it is on the site for the new student living at aston uni in Birmingham. it has a height of 72 meters (236 Foot) but im unsure if this takes into account for the crows nest aswell, either way..... its high. it was an aventfull visit as after getting onto the crane we thought we had been seen but turned out we was ok then once we got to the last leg of the ladder the copper chopper had a fly past. we got into the encolsed space at the top of the ladder and laid low for a little while till they cleared off and emerged onto the rear of the crane. after a few photos the chopper started heading back so we made another attempt to hide. this went on for what seemed like ages then he cleared off as was probably running low on fuel. once this had happened we made full use of the peice and quiet and got the cameras back out. anyway on with the pictures but before i do fair play JC for getting up there we could all smell your fear
Me and MrA at the rear counter weight
View from the Counter weight

On the Crows Nest
Looking down from the Nest
Locked Cab
Looking into the Hiding space
The view with your head hanging over the side
