Cataract Bridge Mill is a heavily modified late nineteenth century mill and operated as a textile manufacturing company until it closed a few years ago. It is due for demolition so a new housing estate can be built there.
Before planning permission could be given the building was assessed to see if it was of archaeological, historical and architectural significance. The assessment concluded that whilst of minor local significance, its buildings were not worthy of retention.
Not your typical mill, it only has 1 floor and is pretty trashed but still it was a good find.
Thought I'd have a job getting in this place but i couldn't a door that was closed, let alone locked.
Don't have many pictures of the outer buildings, camera died, will get them asap.
