History
The hospital and all the buildings had many uses in the time they were operational. The first buildings opened in 1899. Most of the site was dedicated to support and treatment of mental health issues.
A link can be found on @obscurity post to the extensive history of the site.
The Chiltern Wing, this was one of the more modern buildings on the site.
Security do regular patrols and we found this out while there.
The Explore
Kindly tipped of by @obscurity about this gem. Visited with @Porker of the night . Rocked up for a decent afternoon and we got just that but very nearly turned bad at the last hurdle. Great time and lots of features to photograph throughout the buildings. Making our way out, just about to let ourself out and the gigantic stab proof vest wearing Mr T look alike was standing right in front of us opening the gate into the next building doing his rounds, a slow walk backwards with twitchy arsehole turned on we made it back out, close call but a great afternoon.
