The Garrison swimming pool is just a tiny part of what's derelict on this massive site. As with anything military however, the buildings are very stripped because everything has to be taken out and accounted for. We had a poke around some other bits and found a pretty cool map room which I'll post up later.
The swimming pool isn't within the old military compound and just sits unawares on the side of the road in an ordinary housing estate. It's in immaculate condition although we found evidence of attempted arson. I haven't read the article on the recent fire but I can only guess that it must have been done literally within about 24 hours of us visiting parts of it. Scary stuff!
