Ventured into the downstream inlet, this time prepared with waders to combat the mud of death!
Went into the inlet and the first low stretch, then it opened into a bigger tunnel, past this a concrete box section and the mud. Sorry most of the pics were point and flash. Ive tried my first bit of light painting further on.
There were quite a few shafts upto manholes:
But they were solid and heavy!
It was thick and unrelenting for some way I was beginning to doubt it would subside when I eventually found I could balance ontop without sinking!
The tunnel opened up into brick. after this the going was much easier.
Our exit:
We emerged somewhere in Hulme, and made off home. We did not go very far along the brook, but will go back in sometime soon for the next bit!!
