We where recently out exploring Up Holland and decided to head down Crow Lane. We came across a rusty gate and mucky path that led us to old ruins of houses and to our amazement and old abandoned sandstone quarry dating back as early as the 1700s. After alot of walking around and investigating we stumbled across a blocked off entrance so curiosity got the better of us. We found a small mouse hole and had no luck of gaining access. We then walking around abit more and found another mouse hole that had been covered up with trees that led us to an underground system of mines going down as much as 4 levels. Theses are located in the WN8 area of Up Holland on Crow Lane. When we entered we was astonished at the size of the place, there is vast tunnels and passageways all around, under ground waterfall, large pools, a great way to spend 4-5 hours. I have attached some photos of our day. Id say the place is safer than most places ive been but still proceed carefully. Plenty of light will benefit your visit greatly and a bag of tea lights or glow sticks so you can easily navigate the full mine system. Very good place enjoyed every inch of it. Any stories, photos or other parts people have found please feel free to share This is only a few photos i taken dont want to spoil it for new visitors.
Definitely worth a visit.
