Everyone knows Cwm Coke - if you don't, where have you been? It's been one of the mainstays of industrial exploring in the UK for going on fifteen years now and, in my opinion at least, is one of the last great oldschool industrial sites alongside locations such as the Grimsby Ice Factory and Tone Mills.
For ages I had wanted to experience Cwm Coke for myself but it had always been put on the back burner, and whenever I thought to myself yes I will get it done out came another security horror story from someone or somewhere or other. Eventually though me and my mate just thought sod it lets nail the place. True to form as soon as we arrived on Welsh soil it began to rain and the grey drizzly shitty weather accompanied us for the entire visit. We got in nice and early and headed straight for the first major structure we could see which happened to be the boiler house. After the initial jog we spent a leisurely few hours wandering the vast rusting facility with absolutely no security in sight. Whether we just got exceptionally lucky or not I don't know, but there was nary a sausage to be seen from where security were said to be stationed. After a few hours we decided to not push our luck much further and got out - and the weekend after this another friend of mine ended up being caught there!
Sadly this explore was at the very end of a period of time spent using a pretty buggered lens (protip don't drop your camera on a flagstone floor), so many of my photos came out looking crap or were just plain out of focus. Thankfully I sent it off for repairs after this day as it was alarming to me how many photos I had lost.
Thanks for looking
