Todays trip was to see a couple of things we didn’t have time to see on the last trip. We still didn’t get round half the stuff I wanted to see either but I was glad to see the bits I did see and it was nice to show 2 new people around too.
First stop was the ram room, we didn’t get any photos as it was too busy in there so we had a quick look and made our way to one of the old quarryman’s tool room.
I’m not sure why there were so many keys on the wall, they had put some old tools up on the wall aswell as an old mobile phone and more randomly a toy helicopter!
Next stop was the 3 tombs
I’d wanted to see this for a while as I was told it was difficult to get to but it wasn’t that bad at all I thought. After stopping here for a few minutes we made our way to la plague for some lunch.
While there a couple of catafiles entered and although the language barrier was testing at times we explained that we were mine explorers from the uk. We showed them pics of the cathedral and the cranes from box which they were impressed by, as more catafiles arrived we said our goodbyes and made our way to the next stop, the lanterns room
Now getting pressed for time we had a quick drink while discussing our plan of action. At this point i realised I had been miles too ambitious with the route I’d drawn up so we had to decide what bits we were going to see before heading out. Next up the bone thrones!
L.Davo on the bones thrones, I still couldn’t bring myself to sit on them lol
A short stop at the carrefour des morts to see the bones and bone shaft then it was off to bureau du centre (centre office)
By this point we were all becoming a bit fatigued as we’d be on the go since midnight catching ferries and driving to Paris so it was decided to get out a hour prematurely so we could go get a kfc before making our back to Calais for 1:25am ferry home. All in all it was a 28 hour trip but worth every minute. Now to sit down and work out a route for the next trip. I have officially caught the catacombs bug 😂.
Thanks for looking 👍
