This is a report from a couple of years ago for the above site. There are a few reports here which already have a really good history of the bulding and area, so I'll only cover briefly. It opened in 1878 and was phased closed between 1964 and 1967 and has been empty since.
The building is abandoned and Grade II listed, there have been plans for it, but none have been approved. I visited late last year and the security had been further improved, so access is more challenging now, but the site is still unsecured in the most part. There is a full size basement which appears to have been used for garages/ small industrial units at some point, the upper floors were deemed too dangerous to access.
