The distillery was founded in the 18th century.
From 1926 it was managed by a foundation. After 1945 it was taken over by the State Agricultural Enterprises (PGR) and then by Xxxxxx. Some of the machines from the distillery can now be seen in the National Museum of Agriculture and Food Industry in Szreniawa, such as a steam engine from 1848.
The building consists of two parts - the distillery itself and the apartment on the first floor.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to find out exactly what was burned there.

Nice pics and awesome piece of history!
Apparently between WW1 and WW2 the distillery was producing 12 500 litres of rectified spirit (~86% ABV) a year, or close to 35l/day, using crude (by today's standards) methods.
Boiling that off wouldn't be a problem (coal or wood as fuel), more interesting challenge would be temperature control and how to cool it down and properly fraction the condensate - would love to see that!
