Visited with Lenston and a non member.

The drain was built in the early 70's to help cope with the flooding in Bedminster. It is also known as the Malago Storm Water Interceptor and runs along side the Southern Foul Water Interceptor (which absolutely stinks!). It has a number of sewerage overflow chambers along the tunnel, which is about 2 miles long, and you can definitely smell them and see the build up of fat before you even get to them.

I couldn't believe the amount of baby eels and fish down there!

Nice storm drain this one isn't it. Didn't you get any pics near where the waters drops into the Avon?

Unfortunately both my cameras had died by then, well done me for not being prepared!
