Yes it’s a complete derpy burned state but I just love places like this they seem to hold more character than a pristine place. I’m really not sure why I’ve not been here before, I’ve had it pinned for a while but never got round to going. Wandering the corridors reminded me of walking through West Park Hospital.
I think we spent about 3 hours here, didn’t see another soul and no security either which is good as I have heard security were quite hot on it. Took hundreds of photos which is usual for me and then hard to whittle down to a few. Only issue we had was my light decided to run out of charge whilst in the dark kitchen area so had to use the flash on my phone.
History -
The concourse site was a residential centre offering leisure courses and activity weeks but closed back in 2011. It was then used for foreign language students and later advertised as a conference centre and wedding venue. A fire broke out in part of the site in October 2019, requiring a large emergency response. There is also a Grade II Listed Lodge on site. Plans to build housing on the site appears to have stalled.
