Heading over the new Runcorn bridge I got a bit lost and ended up passing this horrible thing. Despite the fact that its clearly just a partly boarded-up shell I actually quite enjoyed wandering round - something about big empty spaces I suppose.
History. Was originally government offices (Department of Employment) and has apparently been a vacant eyesore for about 20 years - see recent Liverpool Echo article https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/council-backs-taking-legal-action-14173144.
There are two previous reports on here where you can follow the progress from trashed offices to shell:
2014 https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/runcorn-dep-building-april-12.89868/
2009 https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/office-block-east-lane-runcorn-september-2009.43033/
Pictures go from the ground up.
