It’s about time I posted a report on here now that I finally have an internet connection!
After a semi-successful day of roof-topping in Birmingham, me and @rakadactyl decided to head towards Five Ways Tower but after confirming it was locked off again, we decided to head for a building nearby with similar views which a few people I know had visited recently.
Access was rather easy to the site, and inside the building was stripped ready for demolition, however workers hadn’t visited in around a month (unless they hadn’t signed in properly).
The construction of Edgbaston House began in 1974 and finished in 1976, and comes in at around 69 metres tall, therefore making it about 7 metres smaller than Five Ways Tower. Despite being a slightly smaller building, in my opinion, the view is far more impressive as you don’t have Broad Street blocking your view of Birmingham.
I couldn’t find much information on this site other than that it is due to be demolished, one of the previous tenants was Islamic Bank of Britain and that there are plans for a new development and a green area just off the Hagley Road.
These photos are from my visit back in July, however I revisited the site with @jellyfish recently.
We had to wait a little while because of these guys on a neighbouring rooftop.
