Grade II listed Eldon Grove was opened in 1912 by the Countess of Derby on behalf of Liverpool City Council as "labourers' dwellings".

This appears to have come to naught, I can find no trace of either company being active today. There appears to be little interest in the site apart from the local scallies and homeless.

"They are an early example of public/social housing, but they are also architecturally interesting. They are an attractive group of dwellings in a domestic revival style. They are quite a rarity."
In 2002 the block was given a new hope for continuing use after lying empty since the 90s. From the Liverpool Daily Post:
"[...]After years of neglect, the municipal flats which set a new standard for the country are to regain their glamour.
Liverpool building firm Brightace and Shine Developments are to restore the [66] flats and build eight mock Tudor houses [and gardens] on the old asphalt playground which separates them from the cottages on Bevington Street."
