Report - Farringdon Hall Police Station - Sunderland - August 2017

Farringdon Hall Police station previously was the main Police Station for Sunderland West. It appears to be a 1960's building on four floors with an adjoining custody suite. In 2014, Northumbria Police announced plans to close many police stations in their force area and reduce opening hours at others in order to make massive savings and re-invest the money into front line policing. It appears that parts of the station were ran down previously to this with the last officers moving out at the end of 2015. It is currently up for sale with an asking price of £400,000. The Custody Suite is by far the most interesting part , the majority of the floors are empty offices, but as I was pushed for time I probably only looked around half of it. It was either pitch black rooms or rooms with too much light - I couldn't really find a happy medium.

You were there today? I checked out a load of the closed stations last year including this one but they were all sealed tight and then seen some pics pop up recently and did some digging.

There's certainly some odd north east people kicking around on Facebook who hate 28 and seem to try and bullshit their way out of things with bizarre excuses and stories, it's a good job I don't care though haha

Yeah. Just happened to be going past. Didn't have time to go inside though, I was heading off on a non-exploring related task.

They seem to have a passionate hatred of the site and everyone on it. Urbex politics... Best to avoid it

Gaz W - DTS , a member of the doxy twoc squad they were people from the local housing estate of Doxford park,notorious for robbing sheds and anything else not screwed down lol
