I used to be a member here about ten years ago. It was called Top Notch back then. What a souless place it was. I remember lots of twenty somethings, coyly checking themselves out in the many wall to wall mirrors.
Miss the sauna and steam room though. Theres the odd bit of exercise equipment lying around. Some still working. A large section of roof as caved in somehow which is odd as the rest of the structure seems looks solid. Theres also a random old car outside in a lean to garage. I can't make out what it is. Answers on a postcard please.
The redevelopment of the Fitness4Less site on Thorns Road in Quarry Bank could see 14 apartments and 19 townhouses go up along the road, near Merry Hill shopping centre, which carries 24,000 vehicles-a-day.
Applicants Fitness4Less – which already runs a gym at the site – say the existing gym requires ‘significant redevelopment to harmonise the site’ and provides an opportunity to ‘improve the built environment and user experience’.
But Dudley Council bosses say a site visit has been planned following objections to the plans with residents fearing further congestion, lack of parking and loss of privacy.
