(BEFORE LOCKDOWN) (JUST)
Ford UK Head Office, Warley
@Ojay / @mockney reject / @Seffy
The UK head office of Ford Motor Group was built in the early 1960s and was intended to be a sort of replica of the head office in Dearborn, Michigan. It sits on the site of the old Warley regimental depot and barracks, with only the officers' mess and gym remaining to this day. Employees would then move in in 1964, many of them relocating from the former UK office on Ford's Dagenham estate. The Warley site would be the base of all the top dogs in the Ford UK operation, including Chairman Andy Barratt.
Over 50 years later in 2018, Ford announced that it would be closing its site in Warley and moving the operation to Duntan Technical Centre and the Dagenham Diesel Centre by the end of September 2019. The idea behind the change was to bring all of its UK office-based activities together.
On 12 August 2019, after 55 years in its US-styled offices at Warley, the Ford of Britain press office starts a new era at the company’s Dunton Technical Centre near Basildon. The team will be co-located alongside Ford of Britain Marketing, Sales and Service colleagues in the centres V-Building. Press officers and support will be together with all external communicators including marketers, customer advisers, fleet sales and service teams.
The offices at Warley have been bought for £40m by Fairview New Homes and will be flattened to make way for some 400 new houses.

After being out all day on the Saturday in London, @Ojay and myself found ourselves wandering the streets of Marylebone trying to find somewhere that still sold CANS. No such joy was found, so we headed back to Olkka and Clebby's first class abode, booze free, to hit the hay. @mockney reject had vaguely mentioned something about this place in the pub the previous day, but I knew little about it truth be told. He usually delivers the goods though, so after a large egg-filled spoons breakfast, we drove to Essex. Ojay had soon hijacked the aux cable and was blasting out the finest mixes of DnB to get our day going properly.
Cue nosey af dog walkers, mountain bikes and inconveniently placed neighbours alongside a woof woof unit out the front; just what the doctor ordered!
Starting at the top and working our way down - the Penthouse (supposedly used by the Ford family when they were in the UK)
Lower down - mostly office space:
Cinema/theatre:
Canteen:
Basement:
