BBC News - Former Wade factory in Burslem badly damaged by fire
A grade II listed former pottery factory in Stoke-on-Trent has been severely damaged by fire.
More than 40 firefighters tackled the blaze at the derelict two-storey Wade Ceramics factory in Westport Road, Burslem.
The factory was used by Wade Heath and Company from 1954 to 2010, and is next to Hill Top Sunday School.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, called to the scene at 03:20 BST, said it was started deliberately.
Firefighter Mark Walchester said it had been difficult to tackle because the building was derelict and unsafe to enter.
He said: "The fire was on the first floor and roof space and firefighters used three main jets as well as the aerial ladder platform to bring the fire under control."
