Background summarised from http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/29447. Art Deco but not listed, opened as a cinema in 1937, converted to bingo in 1966 which then closed in 1998. The place was briefly a music rehearsal venue in 2009 but has remained empty under various owners since.
This one has always been ‘open’ in a sense, but after a tip off from @Speed et al. we arrived to find it much more easily accessible. Its just an empty building really - all the original seating, projectors, lighting fixtures and furniture are long gone. Nevertheless its fun to look round, with curved corridors, lots of little rooms, spiral staircases and a roof to explore.
There are two previous reports on here (2009, 2011) and not much has changed since then.

There is also a video from when the place was a cinema
and two stills from this are included below.
Pictures are ordered roughly from the basement up.
Seems a band called Stig Noise used to record here https://stignoise.bandcamp.com/album/stig-noise-vs-barberos - on the left are some of their song titles.
View west, with the Wirral and the Welsh mountains beyond.
View north towards the centre of town with the tower of the Anglican Cathedral on the skyline and the little tower of the Toxteth reservoir just visible to the left of the church next to it.
