Report - Glasgow District Court - May 2023

Glasgow District Court

A former court house just south of Glasgow city centre, on the corner of St Andrew’s Street and Turnbull Street. It was designed by renowned local architect Alexander Beith McDonald and was opened on 23rd of March 1906, with the building serving as the New Central Police Office and District Court. Part of the building was also used as the ‘Police Museum’ up until its eventual closure in 2008.

It's only come up once before here (Glasgow District Court Hall - Nov 2020 | Other Sites) but I guess it's been hammered by locals? Either way I quite enjoyed my time here, decent example of a relatively unmodernised court.

Always liked the look of this place. It’s one that seems to rear its head every now and again. Must get sealed regularly. Best pics I have seen of the place though by far.

can't say much more really. jibbed the wall at 5-6am in dark and low and behold, batwoman herself strolling around in the courtyard. pretty scary and we thought batman himself could rock up any moment so we had to dip

Another example of a beautiful building getting left to rot away, stunning photography.
I for one am glad that these buildings are getting put back into use with developers bringing them back into use.
Every time we see buildings like this we are treated to the site of a triffid living rent free in in the gutters.
