Great Douk Cave is a shallow cave system on the western slope of Ingleborough. It's reached along the main path which starts from close to the Hill Inn. The entrance is in the bottom of a large depression where a small waterfall emerges from an underground passage. This passage can be followed for a considerable distance and it is possible to reappear from Middle Washfold caves.
Access is gained by climbing up a waterfall.
For the more serious potholers there's a tight squeeze down the ladder.
Some stunning formations, and you if you look closely you can see fossils embedded into the rock.
I was amazed when it opened up into this.
