about Greenham common
RAF Greenham common was an raf base near Newbury which was opened in 1942 first being used by both the royal air force and the united states army air force and then just the united states army air force. the base was used by the us for the storage of nuclear missiles during the cold war and became consequently very controversial with protesters and peace groups. the base then closed in 1993 leaving all missile silo's empty so that Russian satellites could see American missiles were no longer being held at the base
The Explore
great explore with absolutely no sign of security and very few members of the public around. the explore was well worth the absolute nightmare the place is to get into as there is so much to walk around and see, it took us a good 2.30 to 3.00 hours to go around.
