Gripper Drain is located in the Fallowfield area of Manchester.
This has been visited plenty of times, but i don't know who originally named it "Gripper" or why ?
It was an easy explore for myelf as i am still new to drains, shortish in distance with good headroom.
Also gave me a chance to dick about with the torch and some homemade filters, so i have probably gone overboard with the pictures.........
The large tunnel entrance is a bridge over a main road which joins a narrow tunnel a short distance in. This narrow tunnel is quite high and made from a nice mix of brick and stone. It twists and turns a few times and is about 300 yards long before ending at a very heavy duty oversized grille.
