This drain was short but sweet and by far the easiest to access!
After climbing over a small fence and walking down a short embankment in a park you are at the entrance to Gripper.
What I like about this drain is the use of bricks everywhere!
The large tunnel entrance is a bridge over a main road which joins a narrow tunnel a short distance in. This narrow tunnel is quite high and made from a nice mix of brick and stone. It twists and turns a few times and is about 300 yards long before ending at a very heavy duty oversized grille. At the right hand side there is a side channel which seems to serve no other purpose other than to allow authorised access to the drain from above. A bit ironic that you can just walk in the other end!
