Bungle mentioned this place to me a couple of weeks ago and to be honest, the thought of spending any amount of time in Harpurhey, one of north Manchester's less salubrious districts didn't really appeal me.
However, after seeing Bungle's recent report I was so impressed with the place I really wanted to see it for myself. So a quick phone call to R1 who was also keen and we were set.
The attention to detail in the place is fantastic, the both of us were wandering around, mouths open at the superb tiles and wooden cubicles, the place is actually in a fairly reasonable condition after being closed for six years. It is such a shame that a building like this will be allowed to fall further into rack and ruin.
I really enjoyed this one, anyway here's the pictures. Thanks for the access details, Bungle.
