Firstly, unfortunately I haven’t got the date wrong above - this is a bit of an archive report, more than a year late. The building is currently undergoing renovation (which is either good or bad news depending on how you look at it) but I hope the report is still if interest as I haven’t seen any photos from inside here anywhere online.
The school was built in 1880 and closed in 2008. It was named, in 2013, as one of the country’s ten most endangered buildings. (Source: http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/sheffield-school-abandoned-and-left-to-rot-1-6160189).
This post on Sheffield Forum features the reflections of a number of ex pupils: https://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-463428.html
The school is currently undergoing conversion into 16 one and two bedroom flats. (Source: http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk...for-former-sheffield-primary-school-1-7906149)
I can’t find any of the external photos I took last year, so here are a couple of archive photos from elsewhere online

It took persistence and some patience to get into this place, with it being either sealed or workmen being present on site. This report uses photos from my two successful visits. I’ve split the photos into two sections, upstairs and down. Downstairs were the bulk of conventional classrooms and corridors, the school hall and some staff rooms. There was also an area (including an arcade cabinet) that had been used as a polling station.
Upstairs there was more damage, decay and pigeon shit than downstairs, largely because the roof was in such a poor state. Most of the upstairs space seemed to have been set aside for art lessons and storing resources.
Again, alpols for the lateness of this one.
