- Hi peoples, welcome to my photo report of Aubin-Hennocque quarry, Mery sur Oise, north of Paris.
Val de Oise, Oise valley, is an area with a lot of quarries.
Hennoque is a big one of 40 ha, but I heared there are bigger ones.
First a quarry, then occupied by the Germans in WW2 and used as V2 rocket storage or something like this, that's my history to it. Theres a lot interesting stuff in the net, but most in French, often related to different quarries, which makes things difficult.
Have a look yourself, this page seems not bad

water
-
at some places unfinished work
-
nice to see how they worked out the stone
-
-
not the easiest job I think; big lever, heavy

-
what might be behind this, couldn't get there

I don't know what this was

-
some winches left
-
in another area, list of a mushroom farm, written on stone
-
the slope shaft
-
dangerous, there a hole of a few meters on the ground
-
-
that was to guide a rope or chain I think
-
nearly on top of the shaft

another roll

the former exit of the slope shaft
