Hi from Birmingham

Hello fellow explorers!

My name is Maria and I live in Birmingham. I've been drawn to abandoned buildings since childhood. I had lost touch with this interest of mind for the past few years but I recently got back into it and now I can't get enough. I'm always walking around these days making a mental list of the potential sites I'd like to enter. 😅

I have a thing for tall dark buildings & other massive structures but I don't say "no" to tiny derelict houses either.
My level of expertise is lower-intermediate. Strategy and enthusiasm are some of my strengths - if there is a sneaky way in, I'm sure to find it. Good at disarming security guards too. My weak points are lack of physical strength (for things like rope climbing), which I am working on, and the fact that I get freaked out at the sight of my own shadow on solo explores.
Not a fan of vandalism or using force to gain entry but I did learn to pick locks. 🤷‍♀️

Sadly, while the people in my social circle occasionally tag along, I don't feel like their heart is really in it. I'm joining this forum hoping to get acquainted with more like-minded individuals some day.
And I know, I know, you have to prove you are cool before the top guys are willing to give you a chance - fair enough. With that said, I am just putting it out there that if any newbies (even with 0 experience) in my area are reading this, I'd be more than happy to pair up and start our own Adventure Club ☺️
Hit me up, I can explain the safety protocols and we can take it from there if it sounds ok.

I’m near Birmingham too. I’d definitely be down to climb something sometime. i think me and my mate might’ve bumped into you in five ways about a week back too😂

What a small world! I apologize for screaming once again. That was a really cool encounter though. You and your friend sounded very knowledgeable of all the urbex hotspots around town. As fond as I am of the 5 Ways tower, I really need to broaden my horizons.
Would be great to climb something some day, please count me in!

No need to apologise😂 definitely less abandoned spots now then theyre were 3 months ago with 2 of my favourites being permanently gone. But theres still a bunch of good spots though! I’m free most weekends to climb so just shoot me a message whenever

definitely think its doable somehow. It’s worth a shot for sure. Theres another abandoned tower a 3 minute walk away from there as well if not they closed up the old way into it but it’s still abandoned so gotta be a way in somehow

As for the building that is 3 mins away, I wonder if you mean the one with the sign saying it was acquired by some company? With several options nearby, I hope at least one will pan out. I'll be doing more research this weekend on what else is available out there 🐱

Yeah I think that’s the one. It’s a little shorter then five ways but there’s some cool stuff in there. It used to be an office so there’s a section where’s there a abandoned costa coffee which is pretty cool. If all else fails I know 2 pretty easy roofs in the city centre 😂
