HISTORY - holly lodge started out as a private residence in 1828 and later with other buildings added in the grounds, later became a school for girls which was opened in 1922 .
In 2015 a replacement holly lodge was built to replace the old 1920s buildings ,the old buildings were demolished in 2016 to make way for 60 redrow homes .
it was said by one ex-pupil ...HOLLY LODGE survived the bombings of WW2 but unfortunately could not survive the greed of a corrupt city council and school board .
since the schools closure , the buildings have been used for filming , various rooms n corridors have been mocked up as police stations, prison visitors rooms , hospitals and what i think was a hair dressers salon. THE FIVE was filmed here for SKY 1.
THE EXPLORE-after seeing a few reports on this place appearing on the various urbex sites , we had to visit ! we even had inside info off an ex pupil !
after arriving we thought the place had been locked up tight ? we circled our way round till me and my fellow explorer @Cazel#HT found an unlocked window and made our way in to a school classroom set up for an exam ! after walking down a few corridors we discovered we could of walked straight bloody in !.... DOH !
while in the school theatre , we had lashings of fun setting up a couch with various ornaments and a toilet to see if it would appear in any other reports on HOLLY LODGE ? and it did !!!!! ..lol
THE PICS - i think i was still using a canon kit lens with a wide angled screw on adaptor ?
