My first explore after finding this awesome site. Admittedly it was the thought of exploring the reservoir and underground bunkers that initially got my heart racing with excitement but a visit to the Labs on the West side of the site felt just as intriguing.
Upon arrival the entry point to the East side of this site where the reservoir and bunkers are was chained up, I had a hurried look around without trying to gain to much suspicion but couldn't really see a way in. Unperturbed I made for the West side of the site where the laboratories are located. Didn't take long to gain access and I was soon exploring the Labs themselves.
As many reports previous to this one state the place is pretty much wrecked. Graffiti (a lot of it crap) was everywhere. Anything that could be smashed or ripped apart, was.
I still found it an amazing experience but as it was my first I was constantly looking over my shoulder, or stopping and freezing after hearing a noise that might've been other people.
Looking back that was one of the cool aspects of it actually!
Was so gutted I couldn't gain access to the other side though. Those bunkers and reservoir look pretty epic. Safe to say whatever way in there is, you'll be trekking your way through a lot of overgrown vegetation, even at this time of the year it looked like a daunting prospect let alone in the height of summer!
Safe to say I've been bitten by the exploring bug - love looking at all the old photos from when the factory was in operation and comparing them to the state it's in now, standing where all these people once did carrying out important jobs. Felt pretty cool.
Here's a few shots I took, looking forward to returning to find a way in to the other side - if anyone's going soon, like next week perhaps, please do let me know - I'll happily join you :-)
