A great example of staple Soviet hospital architecture for your review and corroboration with the nuances of British hospital architecture. I regularly visit Almaty but this particular hospital may soon be demolished thanks to vlogger kids twatting around and drawing attention (sigh) - thought it would be a nice one to circulate on some english speaking forums. Originally built as a military hospital during WW2, far into Soviet hinterland away from the Eastern European front, most of its life it was used as a bioresearch laboratory until closure in the early noughties for unknown reasons. Pictures are from my most recent visit in December 17. Mountains of paperwork and pharmaceuticals still inside.
