Apologies for the quality and quantity of pictures, but you can't see much of this now so I thought it was worth it.
The protected accommodation for the HQ of No.8 Group was opened on November 2nd 1963. I heard that it was up for sale in 1994 and went to have a look around. It was so complete there were still folded blankets on the bunks and you could pay extra in the auction if you wanted the stainless steel kitchen equipment! I think that most of the kit, including the display boards ended up in a skip.
The first sale was to a company who planned to use it as a base for a local radio station. This fell through and it was eventually bought for use as a satellite earth station. Extensive alterations were made to the building leaving it almost unrecognizable.
